Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 wet belt replacement in Royston
The current Vauxhall Corsa uses the same 1.2 three-cylinder petrol as the Peugeot 208, with its timing belt running in oil. We replace it for £650 fixed in Royston, and we check your Corsa's engine from the reg before you book.

Which Corsas have it
The Corsa from 2019 (often called the Corsa F) is the one with the belt-in-oil engine. That includes the non-turbo 1.2 (75PS) and the 1.2 Turbo 100. Vauxhall is one of the brands in Stellantis's extended cover for premature timing belt wear on these engines.
Corsas built before 2019 are not on the PureTech lists. Send us the reg if you are not sure which you have.
Stellantis's later 1.2 engines with an EB2LTED-type code use a chain instead, so on a newer Corsa we check the engine code. We check the code before ordering parts.
What a worn belt does to a Corsa
The belt sheds rubber as it ages. The particles can block the oil pump strainer and cut oil pressure, and they can also block the solenoids that control the valve timing. Trade technical notes say the brake vacuum pump can be affected by belt material on this engine too, so a hard brake pedal is a reason to get it checked.
The belt struggles most when the oil is diluted by fuel, which happens on short journeys when the engine never gets properly hot. Plenty of Corsas live exactly that life.
What the £650 Corsa job includes
Right parts first
Engine code checked from the reg, so the correct kit is ordered.
Locked and timed
Timing locked with the proper tools; new bolts where the procedure requires them.
New wet belt kit
OE-spec belt and matching tensioner parts.
Oil system cleaned
Pick-up strainer cleaned so debris cannot starve the engine of oil.
Correct oil and filter
Approved 5W30 and a new filter, as the wrong oil shortens the belt's life.
12-month warranty
Every wet belt replacement comes with our own 12-month / 12,000-mile parts and labour warranty, honoured at our Royston and Swindon workshops.
When a Corsa should come in
The revised Stellantis schedule for this engine family is 6 years or 100,000 km (about 62,000 miles) in normal use, with belt checks at services. Some books show longer figures, so check your service schedule; we can confirm from your reg.
Bring it in sooner if the oil pressure light has come on, you have a warning light with loss of power, or the brake pedal has gone hard.
